week 9: yea i skipped a week...
yea i skipped a week, ah well. been busy with school and all that so havent had time to sit down at the computer long enough to do random things, mostly just for work. anyways, this week i bring some dopeness. people have been askin for more slow-jammish reggae and some anonymous person asked for some r&b. basically this week i'm satisfyin those requests and adding some more tunes as well. and dont get all twisted, im gonna try to update every week just might be off by a day or two. peace.

arite this is a track off of Bilal's upcoming 2006 album (yea its not out yet but damn straight i have it) called "Love For Sale". very dope r&b joint, the beat has a dirty string section and crazy horns, and then Bilal just killlls it with his vocals. definitely download this one.
Luciano - Crafty

reggae joint by Luciano off his 2005 album called "The Comforter". real nice electric guitar riffs in the background, good lyrics, and his tenor carries the track really nicely.
Raphael Saadiq - Rifle Love (feat. Tony Tone Toni & Lucy Pearl)

this r&b track was huge last fall. it's off of Raphael Saadiq's 2003 album called "As Ray Ray", and his voice just goes perfect on the dirty bassline and the gunshot on the hook is nasty. nice to see a reunion of both Tony Tone Toni and Lucy Pearl on the track too, cot damn Dawn Robinson has a nice voice. grab this if u want some dope r&b.
Mystic - Neptune's Jewels

i first heard this song back in grade 10 coz for some reason i got a copy of Mystic's album advance for free. this is a joint off her 2001 major release "Cuts For Luck And Scars For Freedom" which also had the track "The Life" on it. Mystic is a talented lyricist and ill r&b vocalist too, kinda like Lauryn Hill, but more of a west coast underground emcee. this shows off both sides of her voice, and its a real nice track, so grab it.

another cut off of "Love For Sale". this is a bit of a different track but its realll chill and smooth, more of a vocal track but the beat has a nice synth feel to it, and the hook is kinda infectious. one of those chillin out in ur room and vibin type tracks, Bilal's new album is HOT, truss me.
Goapele - You (feat. Dwele)

beautiful slow jam. the piano, the guitar, combined with two of the nicest voices in r&b right now, it equals a SMOOTH ballad duet. this track is off Goapele's 2005 album called "Change It All" and features Dwele (whose own 2005 album "Some Kinda" is dope too), definitely grab this and get the album if u can (ask me for it on msn or something).
Lil' Wayne - Shooter (feat. Robin Thicke)

this song is HUGE. Lil' Wayne's new album "The Carter II" is just nasty, and this track is incredible. it samples "Oh Shooter" from Robin Thicke's 2000 album "A Beautiful World" and is just nuts. Lil' Wayne showin off that the south can really really rap. this song is somethin you will wanna just jam out to nice and loud. and screw it, here's a link to a video of them performing it live on the Tonight Show
